"The war started by Russia against Ukraine in 2014 is ongoing. Novosibirsk, the city in which I lived most of my life, is located far in the country's periphery, at a distance of 3,500 km from the front zone. How much has it changed since the beginning of the full-scale invasion?
I look at all the posters advertising contract military service, all the propaganda materials, all the "Z"-letters the state introduced to symbolize the killings promoted as "liberation". The abundance of visual materials one can spot everywhere - on vehicles and buildings, fences and lamp posts - eliminates, disguises, and camouflages the actual presence of war. The Siberian megapolis, on the other hand, appears stuck, hiding in the rear. I would like to wake the city up - deafen it with the real sounds of the war that it has never heard, but in which participates."
