Ukrainian media artists have come together to form _mediaklub with the idea of an open visual and acoustic environment. During the coronavirus lockdown, they established their network in the space between the analogue and digital worlds. The war, which scattered the members to various countries and not least to the front, demands unusual structures and ever more creative interaction.
‘The online meetings allow us to stick together, to think about our common future, to be close to each other, even if we are separated by countries and time zones. Now we are still playing, each in a different city. We don’t always see and hear each other–but we listen to Max’s voice amidst the interference and disturbances, to his commands from the front: ‘Dima, not enough bass’, ‘Anya, the strings are missing’, ‘Liera, Sasha, lots of treble’, ‘Ivan, all knobs to the right’.’
For one evening, the south side of Musik der Jahrhunderte at Theaterhaus Stuttgart will become the hub of this unique artistic network, connecting a live performance on a Theaterhaus stage with musicians from various European locations.
