platformB, an initiative by Musik der Jahrhunderte Stuttgart, is launching an open call for digital art projects created by artists in exile.
Who we are: platformB was launched in 2023 by Musik der Jahrhunderte Stuttgart as an independent virtual space for creation and exchange, initially supporting politically persecuted artists from Belarus. Over time, it expanded its scope to collaborate with artists, musicians, performers, and writers in exile, regardless of their geographical origin. Recognizing the growing number of forcibly displaced people worldwide, platformB aims to amplify the voices of exiled artists, whose experiences of resistance, courage, and cultural preservation offer valuable insights to the broader community.
Musik der Jahrhunderte (MDJ) is a leading international institution for contemporary music production, interpretation, and events. Based in Stuttgart, it manages the Neue Vocalsolisten and the ECLAT Festival while fostering interdisciplinary collaborations and digital innovations. With around 80 world premieres annually, MDJ engages with pressing cultural and technological themes. Through its extensive global network, MDJ continuously develops new perspectives and co-productions, shaping the cultural landscape in Stuttgart and beyond.
What we support: We welcome artists, musicians, performers, writers, and interdisciplinary
creators to submit proposals for art projects in the context of migration and
exile. We explicitly invite applicants to understand the computer screen as a »performative« stage and to utilize all possibilities of digital media—including interactive ones.
What We Offer:
🔹 Financial support of € 800 for each production of 5 selected projects, which should be realized by December 2025 at the latest.
🔹 Presentation of the projects on platformB.art
🔹 Media and informational support for you and your team trough our Social Media, Newsletter and Network partners.

📌 Artist Biography
📌 Additional materials (audio, video, images, etc.) are welcome
Selection Criteria:
✅ Selection will prioritize artistic merit while welcoming a wide range of perspectives
✅ Reflection on migration, forced displacement, and current political,
cultural, and social situations in Europe and beyond
✅ Digital and adaptable format for an online space
✅ Engagement and interaction with audience
Submissions will be evaluated by the platformB and Musik der Jahrhunderte Stuttgart Teams.
